Background and aims: Non-prescribed use of anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) is associated with a wide range of health risks including AAS-induced hypogonadism (ASIH) caused by negative feedback suppression on the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis.
